HRD Ministry Launched Swasth Bachche, Swasth Bharat
“Swasth Bachche,
Swasth Bharat” Programme, a Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) initiative was
given a green signal by HRD Minister
Prakash Javadekar yesterday.

2017: In a function organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Aluva (Kochi),
Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), Prakash Javadekar launched
the “Swasth Bachche, Swasth Bharat” programme.
Initiated by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, the objective of the programme is to prepare a physical health and
fitness profile card for over 12 lakhs students studying of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
The profile card
will cover children of all age groups and of different abilities. According to
the statement given by HRD ministry the objective of introducing the card is to
make students, teachers and parents understand the importance of being healthy
and fit and also promoting 60 minutes of play every day for kids. Moreover, the
programme also aims to provide values of
Olympics and Paralympics among students.
The union
minister also stated that the aim of their government is to strengthen the
country’s education sector by empowering the general education and ensuring
quality education for everyone. He even praised the Kendriya Vidyalaya in
Kerala for their quality in comparison to Kendriya Vidyalaya of other states.
Javadekar was
also seen interacting with the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Among the other
dignitaries were District Collector
Muhammed Y Safeerulla and Additional Commissioner
U.N Khaware. And, apart from the Swasth Bachche, Swasth Bharat exhibition, children were seen performing yoga.
It will be
interesting to see how this programme
turns out and how students, teachers, and
parents respond to it in the near future.
