How to crack UGC NET exam with self study
Before jumping into the fray of UGC NET exam, all solo, a
student should know few important things about the exam. National eligibility
test is conducted all over India by CBSE on behalf of the UGC. The exam is held
in the months of June and December. A candidate can apply for this exam twice
in a year. The UGC CBSE NET is different different from CSIR NET. Often
student's confuses between the two. Both exams pave the way for awarding
fellowships and giving lecturer ship to candidates in colleges and Universities
but in different subjects.
A student who wishes to crack UGC NET 2017 exam through self
study, should know that there are three papers in the exam, paper 1, paper 2
and paper 3.
The paper 1 aims at testing candidates teaching aptitude,
research ability and his or her general knowledge base. So the paper 1 contains
questions related to reasoning, general awareness, mathematics and
comprehension passages.
Since this paper focus is upon establishing candidate’s
general abilities, so a candidate is advised to prepare this paper dynamically.
He or she should consult different books for reasoning, mathematics and
comprehension passages. In order to keep oneself updated a candidate should
read at least two newspapers and one current affairs magazine everyday.
The paper 2 and paper 3 contain questions related to a
specific subject which is chosen by a student for the exam. In these papers, a
student should adopt a different approach for preparation. Questions in this
section are in-depth and analytical in nature. Hence a student should go slowly
while covering these areas of the syllabus. He or she should read every topic
carefully to develop good understanding, insight and built a strong conceptual
foundation.
It is usually seen that those students who do self-study at
their home, strive to study whole day for the exam. It is a grievous mistake in
judging about one's capacity. No one can study for 10 or 12 hours continuously
at a stretch. It will be wise to set aside 5 to 6 hours daily to study for the
exam.
A student must solve previous years question papers, which
gives an added advantage to candidates in the exam. Taking mock tests before
exam is also another good exercise to do.
In this way a student can easily crack the UGC NET 2017 Exam.
